Mary Carolyn, Founder

Education

Mary Carolyn is a nutrition statistician, official nutritionist for Miss Earth USA and is pursuing her masters to doctoral degree in clinical nutrition. Aside from current fitness and nutrition certifications, she has been a featured speaker at statistical conferences to address corporate wellness, has been published in her field, and had her own fitness TV show. She was featured on Great Day Washington promoting STEM education in the area of math and statistics. 


She earned a BBA Finance from James Madison University, a MA Human Resources at Marymount University, and completed postgraduate coursework towards a PhD in Educational Statistics at University of Maryland; she taught as a professor there. She is currently working towards a Masters in Clinical Nutrition at MUIH and aspires to complete her doctorate in the subject by 2024.

Experience:

Mary Carolyn has worked extensively in academia, as well as in the public and private sectors. As a former Washington Redskins Cheerleader, Science Cheerleader, Mrs. Virginia runner up, writer and professor of statistics, she helps people sift through the plethora of conflicting nutrition advice.   


Mary Carolyn has extensive experience as a nutrition and fitness expert, a conference speaker, and author in the areas of statistics and wellness. She helps corporate teams and private clients achieve their health goals.

Passion

Mary Carolyn encourages others to study their unique nutritional needs. Be your own expert! Get your kitchen set up for food prep so when you are hungry and looking for something to grab, you have nutritious choices ready.   Replace unhealthy food with nutrient dense food.  Develop mindful eating habits.

Senior Fitness 

EverAfterFitness specializes in helping seniors resist the temptation to slow down and become more sedentary with age. Some seniors have arthritis or weight problems or pain issues.  Falling is a number one concern.  We work with seniors to assess their current health situation first, and then, we begin planning together, one on one, to select the most appropriate exercises. 

As a Senior Fitness Specialist, I generally recommend yoga, walking and swimming. When I meet with seniors one on one, we do yoga and take walks as part of the fitness program. As a personal trainer, I plan specific weight training exercises for building strength and balance. 

Senior Nutrition

We also discuss diet and nutrition goals. Many seniors don’t have nutrition goals in place; they simply eat what they enjoy. Often, senior appetites are small, or restricted, depending on health issues or medications.  We develop customized nutrition plans, covering all the recommended daily vitamins and nutrients. At EverAfterFitness, we make you the lead in your own wellness plan, so that you will continue incorporating healthy foods and exercises into your daily life.
